16 leg presses at 55 lbs +
12 leg presses at 70 lbs +
10 leg presses at 70 lbs +
various arm workouts
one free motion kind of like pushups in the air while sitting up,
plus pull-down bar at 50 lbs for roughly 15 reps) +
2 miles on the stationary bike +
2 miles on the treadmill at 2.8 mph (not too fast tonight, I was worn out by then!)
(and all in that order)
I remember long ago being unable to do the leg press machine on 30 lbs (ie no more than 3 reps).
I remember long ago being unable to do the pull-down bar at 40 pounds.
I remember long ago being unable to do the treadmill above 2.2 mph for less than 0.25 miles oh so very long ago.
At the end I was kind of tired, but mostly hungry, and only very slightly sore. This makes me very happy. If I hadn't been hungry, I think I could have kept going safely. I've come a long long way.
Tonight's workout also involved calibrating my pedometer (at least roughly) based on the observation that 2.0 miles on the treadmill = 4600 steps on the pedometer, and thus I can do arithmetic to find that my average stride length was about 27", which has now been input to the pedometer setup. I realize a treadmill is not the greatest way to calibrate but I don't feel like finding somewhere else to do it. At least it's a starting point. :)
I'm so excited about how far I've come. *happy dance*
